Cooloola Region is a unique part of the Sunshine Coast which offers a superb lifestyle coupled with a sound and diverse economic base. The region's principle City, Gympie, is located on the Bruce Highway 160 kilometres north of the State's capital, Brisbane.

Covering a total area of around 3,000 square kilometres, the region incorporates dramatic national parks and state forests, long sandy beaches, picturesque walking tracks and unique experiences. These experiences range from riding steam trains and gold fossicking to viewing Tin Can Bays resident dolphins and seeing the coloured sands and shipwreck at Rainbow Beach.
